The Las Vegas Raiders are placing defensive end Chandler Jones on the team's non-football illness list as he deals with "a personal issue," NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday.
The designation means Jones, 33, will miss at least the next four games. Jones missed the Raiders' first two games of the season after he publicly criticized the organization earlier this month in now-deleted social media posts and said he didn't "wanna play for the Raiders" if personnel changes weren't made.
Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels didn't comment further on Jones' status Wednesday, saying, "We’re just respecting that process and understand the situation, and that’s really all I can say about it."
Earlier this month, Jones took to Instagram to air his grievances against McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler days before the Raiders' 17-16 season-opening win over the Denver Broncos. He claimed he was locked out of team facilities and forced to work out at a local gym. "I DON'T WANNA PLAY FOR THE RAIDERS IF THAT'S MY HC, OR GM," Jones wrote in a series of posts that have since been deleted.
McDaniels said it was "a personal situation and a private matter" the next day, adding, "we have dealt with it, and I am not going to talk about it."

Jones signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Raiders in March 2022 after spending six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. In his first season with the Raiders, Jones registered 38 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 15 starts.
